Komunikasi udah jadi bagian penting dalam kehidupan manusia sehari-hari. Dari mulai bangun tidur sapai tidur lagi gak pernah yang namanya manusia itu gak berkomunikasi. Sejak zaman primitif sekalipun, manusia mencoba berkomunikasi melalui banyak hal. Untuk berkomunikasi tentunya manusia menciptakan caranya sendiri. Ciptaan sebagai hasil kreasi dari manusia bisa disebut sebagai budaya. Produk dari budaya ini bisa bermacam-macam mulai dari kebiasaan, gerakan tubuh, sampai dengan kepercayaan. Salah satu produk budaya yang kita pakai untuk berkomunikasi adalah bahasa. Nah bahsa ini lah yang kemudian menjadi pengantar kita dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari. Bahasa bisa tercipta berbeda-beda karena faktor yang bermacam-macam. Mulai dari msalah geografis sampai dengan masalah kebiasaan. Biasanya manusia itu menggunakan bahasa sesuai tempat dimana dia tinggal. Sama seperti cinta, bahasa juga muncul karena terbiasa. Bahasa yang kita serap karena mendengarkan lingkungan kita mulai mempengaruhi cara kita berbicara. Kalau dikasih contoh ya semacam anak balita lah ya, mereka mulai berbicara pada umur 2-4 tahun dengan bahasa yang digunakan oleh orang tuanya. Banyaknya bahasa menimbulkan berbagai macam makna terhadap 1 bahasa dengan bahasa yang lain. Hal ini terkadang membuat banyak sekali kesalahpahaman. Ya ini wajar sih kadang kita yang satu bahasa aja suka berantem karena salah paham. Kalau dikasih contoh sih kaya kalian dengan pacar kalian aja. Salah ngomong sedikit, hubungan udah ada di ujung tebing. Ini baru pacar yang satu bahasa, kalau pacaranya beda negara bisa dibayangin lah ya kalo berantem gimana. Berbagai bahasa di negara-negara di dunia ini memang gak terhitung jumlahnya karena bahasa itu mengalami perkembangan secara terus menerus. Sebut saja bahasa yang paling banyak digunakan di dunia seperti Mandarin, Inggris, Spanyol, Perancis, dan Jerman. Bahasa-bahasa ini menjadi bahasa yang banyak digunakan karena negara dari bahasa ini memiliki pengaruh yang kuat di dunia. Sebut saja China dengan bahasa Mandarinnya bisa mengalahkan Inggris sebagai bahasa yang paling sering digunakan di dunia.

Hal ini tidak terlepas dari negara China yang penduduknya luar biasa banyak dan sekarang ini China sedang menguasai pasar internasional menyaingi Amerika. Bahasa memang jadi ajang adu gengsi juga untuk menunjukan pengaruhnya di dunia. Semakin banyak orang yang menggunakan dan familiar dengan bahasa tersebut menjadikan negara dari bahasa tersebut semakin berpengaruh. Heran gak sih kenapa? Jawabannya ada di sejarah dunia. Kita ambil contoh aja kaya bahasa Inggris yang sudah bercokol sebagai bahasa pengantar dunia. Bahasa Inggris menjadi bahasa yang biasa digunakan orang-orang di dunia mulai dari urusan politik di forum internasional seperti PBB sampai dengan forum perdagangan seperti OPEC. Alasannya Bahasa Inggris menjadi bahasa yang digunakan adalah familiar. Aspek sejarah menjelaskan bahwa hal ini terjadi karena adanya pengalaman historis. Contoh pengalaman tersebut adalah kolonialisasi, negara yang sering melakukan perjalanan keberbagai belahan dunia selain spanyol dan portugis adalah Inggris atau yang pada zaman itu terkenal dengan nama Britania Raya. Inggris ini membuka wilayah koloninya diberbagai belahan dunia. Sebut saja negara yang berbeda daratan dengan Inggris hari ini namun bahasa Inggris menjadi bahasa ibu mereka seperti Amerika Serikat dan Australia. 1 negara adidaya dan 1 benua besar yang letaknya bahkan sangat jauh dari Negara Inggris hari ini. Sisanya adalah negara-negara persemakmuran Inggris yang sekarang juga menjadi negara maju di wilayah regionalnya seperti Singapore dan Malaysia. Inggris pada zaman kolonial memang sudah terkenal dengan ekspansinya yang luar biasa masif dan hal ini secara tidak langsung membuat tempat-tempat lain di dunia tertular produk budaya negara Inggris yang salah satunya adalah bahasa. Bahkan gaya berpakaian pun banyak sekali yang mengikuti. Bahasa bagi kaum akademisi juga merupakan aset yang penting karena tidak semua ilmu yang ada di dunia bisa diserap dengan bahasa yang sama.

Para akademisi ini harus mempelajari berbagai bahasa berbeda untuk menghasilkan karya akademis yang komprehensif. Penguasaan bahasa menjadi modal penting bagi para akademisi terutama mereka yang menggeluti ilmu sosial seperti sastra, hubungan internasional, sejarah, dan lain-lain. Mempelajari bahasa sama dengan mempelajari seseorang. Perlu adanya niat untuk menjalin hubungan yang spesial. Ibarat laki-laki sama perempuan, pendekatan dulu lah ya karena gabisa langsung jadian, kalo langsung jadian nantinya awkward banget. Belajar bahasa pun perlu ada pendekatannya, biasanya untuk belajar bahasa dengan baik kita perlu menyamakan perpspektif kita terhadap suatu hal supaya penguasaan bahasa kita sempurna. Pasti kita juga ga akan lupa untuk belajar berbagai kosa kata yang ada dalam bahasa tersebut. Ya memang benar setiap bahasa layaknya manusia pada umunya memiliki perspektinya masing-masing dalam suatu hal. Sebut saja bahasa yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini yaitu bahasa Indonesia akan memiliki makna yang berbeda dengan bahasa Belanda saat menuliskan atau mengucapkan kata yang dalam bahasa Indonesia disebut “pribumi”. Belanda akan memiliki beberapa sebutan untuk pribumi dan 2 diantaranya seperti kata “Inlandsche” dan “Inlander” . 2 Kata tersebut memiliki makna yang sama yang artinya adalah pribumi namun tidak memiliki konotasi yang sama. Kata “Inlandsche” memiliki konotasi yang biasa untuk menyebut pribumi namun kata “Inlander” memiliki makna yang sama saat orang Australia menyebut para Aborigin di abad ke-18 dan 19. Konotasi kata “Inlander” bersifat merendahkan dan tidak hormat. Makanya kalau penggunaan bahasa itu main-main gak Cuma pacaran aja yang bisa udahan, kedamaian di bumi juga bisa udahan. Ibarat cinta bisa putus ditengah jalan, kepala orang juga bisa putus di tengah jalan hanya karena penggunaan bahasa yang tidak tepat. Dari sekian hal tentang pentingnya bahasa bagi kehidupan kita pernah gak sih terpikir sebenarnya bahasa yang bermacam-macam ini sebenarnya berasal darimana? Bahasa burung adalah bahasa manusia

Charles Darwin udah pernah nih bolak-balik menjelaskan tentang apa itu manusia dan bagaimana mereka bertingkah. Salah satu buku fenomenalnya tentang manusia membahas berbagai aspek bahkan sampai dengan asal muasal bahasa yang digunakan manusia. Menurut Darwin dalam bukunya “The Descent of Man”, manusia bukanlah satu-satunya mahkluk yang memiliki bahasa. Hewan-hewan dibumi bahkan memiliki bahasanya masing-masing. Anjing sebagai contohnya memiliki berbagai bahasa yang menggambarkan bagaimana dia menyampaikan sesuatu. Darwin menemukan bahwa ada 6 gonggongan anjing. Anjing melolong karena keputus asaan, anjing menggertak saat dalam bahaya, suara anjing dalam kejar-kejaran, suara anjing saat bahagia yang kemudian terbagi 3 menjadi suara saat meminta sesuatu, saat berjalan-jalan ditaman, dan saat meminta sebuah pintu atau jendela dibuka. Darwin bilang kemampuan bahasa pada manusia tidak menjadikan manusia sebagai satu-satunya mahkluk yang dapat menilai bahasa mahkluk lain. Spesies monyet di Paraguay seperti Cebus azaræ ditemukan oleh Darwin bisa memahami bahasa mahkluk lainnya yang salah satunya manusia. Hal ini bahkan dikemukakan oleh sesama aliran naturalis yang hidup di zaman yang sama. Salah satunya yang mengakui hal ini adalah Johann Rudolph Rengger. Darwin mengemukakan burung merupakan spesies yang bisa berbicara dengan bunyi dan bahasanya sendiri. Burung mungkin saja mempengaruhi manusia dalam berbicara namun kemampuan mendasar bahasa dalam manusia memiliki artikulatif yang lebih dalam dan pasti atau jelas. Perkembangan pada penggunaan bahasa tergantung pada pemahaman mental suatu mahkluk. Ilmu yang mempelajari bahasa seperti filologi memiliki ilmuan terhormat seperti Home Tooke menggambarkan bagaimana sebuah bahasa itu dipelajari. Home Tooke memiliki sebuah teori bahwa seorang manusia dalam memperoleh sebuah bahasa sama dengan saat menciptakan sebuah seni. Layaknya kopi yang diseduh atau pun memanggang. Maksud dari Home adalah sebuah bahasa adalah sebuah seni yang semua orang memiliki caranya masing-masing untuk mempelajarinya. Darwin pun mengungkapkan bahwa perumpamaan menyeduh kopi dan memanggang bukan perumpamaan yang tepat karena manusia memang secara natural memiliki kemampuannya untuk berbicara. Tapi apakah benar suara manusia berasal dari burung? Nah penjelasanya adalah dengan melihat bahwa penemuan sebuah bahasa oleh manusia menurut Darwin dilakukan dengan cara yang tidak disengaja atau tidak direncanakan. Berbeda dengan menyeduh kopi dan memanggang roti, penemuan sebuah bahasa dilakukan dengan cara mempengaruhi alam bawah sadar. Segala hal yang manusia rasakan dan dengar menstimulasi bentuknya sebuah bahasa. Salah satu yang menstimulasi manusia dalam hal ini hingga terciptanya sebuah bahasa adalah sebuah kicauan burung. Darwin menggambarkan bahwa sebuah bahasa tercipta sama seperti saat sebuah anak kecil merekam suara yang ada disekitarnya, burung kecilpun merekam suara-suara yang ada disekitarnya selama 10-11 bulan yang kemudian menjadi sebuah suara yang diucapkan. Teori ini walaupun cukup gila ternyata mendapat dukungan dari tim peneliti dari Universitas yang ada di Tokyo dan institut teknologi di Massaschusetts. Menurut professor Shigeru Miyagawa teori Darwin ini benar bahwa memang cara bertutur dan nyanyian burung memiliki peran dalam pembentukan bahasa yang kemudian digunakan oleh manusia. Menurut professor ini antara 50.000 sampai 80.000 tahun yang lalu manusia menciptakan sebuah bahasa yang unik dengan menggabungkan 2 hal tersebut. Kemudian hal ini bisa digolongkan sebagai bahasa pertama di dunia. Bahasa burung adalah bahasa manusia

Seorang intelektual Katolik yaitu Prof. Max Müller dalam kuliah-kuliahnya menegaskan bahwa memang sebenarnya bahasa manusia adalah bukan sebuah hal yang asing karena pada dasarnya sebuah bahasa yang dipakai oleh manusia dalam berkomunikasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari berasal dari sebuah proses imitasi dan modifikasi. Prof Max Müller inngin menegaskan bahwa sebenarnya sebuah bahasa memang tercipta karena adanya sebuah pengaruh dari lingkungan dimana manusia tinggal dan dengan bunyi-bunyi yang mereka dengar kemudia menstimulasi otak mereka untuk merekan dan kemudian berbicara sesuai dengan bahasa-bahasa yang lahir dari proses modifikasi bunyi yang direkam tersebut. Jadi sebenarnya sebuah bahasa memiliki ciri khasnya masing-masing karena memang setiap bahasa mengalami pengalaman pembentukan yang bermacam-macam juga.

Salah satu yang dibahas Darwin dalam buku “The Descent of Man” selain sebuah hubungan sejarah evolusi manusia dan terciptanya bahasa adalah tentang sebuah hubungan antar seks yang berbeda. Menurut Darwin cara kita flirting pada hari ini bukanlah sebuah hal yang baru, sudah sejak zaman dahulu para leluhur-leluhur kita melakukan hal tersebut untuk menarik lawan jenis berhubungan intim, dalam cara mereka melakukan hal yang kita hari ini sebut dengan flirting ini para leluhur kita menggunakan suara atau bahasa mereka.
